Shop Fox W1712 Review: SHOP FOX W1712 1.5-Horsepower 6/12-Inch Combination Disc and Belt Sander. I have had this sander for 4 years, and it has been a good sander. I agree that the set screw connection is inadequate, and I did just fix mine for the first time. The plastic cowls are a complete joke, but I would never leave them on anyway since you have to remove them to change belts. I have had no problems with the adjusting levers, and the belt tracking works reasonably well. I never loosen the jam nuts, just a little turn clockwise or counterclockwise and the belt ...
